Education: BA in Art from San Jose State University, California,
and continuing studies privately.

1979: Cooper House Gallery, first solo show, Santa Cruz, California, large scale airbrushed fabric panels and wearable art clothing.

1978 – 1988: Designed, dyed and painted a line of women’s clothing and accessories, sold mainly through “art and wine festivals” and contemporary craft markets throughout California. Received awards for “best clothing design of show” at Tapestry and Talent, San Jose and Contemporary Craft Market, Santa Monica. Solo shows included Artisan’s Gallery, Chaminade Gallery, Center Street Gallery, and others in Santa Cruz, Palo Alto, and Saratoga: and group exhibits at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art.

1989 – 1999: Silk Paintings with dyes and resist, framed and sold mainly through the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County’s “Open Studios Tour” – a juried exhibit. Solo and group exhibitions included: Santa Cruz County Government Center, Walnut Avenue Gallery, Artisan’s Gallery, Gallery Vanessa, Soho Group Gallery and Seventh Sense Performance Art Exhibit. She taught silk painting privately and publicly at community spaces.

During this time, she also worked part-time as a “Curator of Exhibitions” for the Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County, and then as Director of the Santa Cruz Art League, a non-profit gallery and art center with a theater and an arts education program.

2000 – 2004: Paintings with acrylics and then oils, and mixed media projects – including landscapes, abstracts and “process” painting. She studied with Cathy Williams and Michelle Cassou at Esalen Institute and in Italy. She continued to participate in the CCSCC Open Studios and juried exhibits. Solo and group shows during this time include: Triton Museum of Art, San Jose; Plum Tree Gallery, Aptos; Walnut Avenue Gallery, Santa Cruz; Pajaro Valley Arts Council Gallery, Watsonville.

During this time she also worked part-time as Exhibitions Curator for the Pajaro Valley Arts Council Gallery, Grants (subventions) Director for the Cultural Council of SCC, and as an independent Grants Writer for non-profit arts organizations, such as SC Ballet Theater.

2005 – 2008: “sabbatical” to paint “Encrypted Emotions” series. Written in French, these colorful woven stories are created from words that are hidden from view, with the final effect being an abstract painting, In acrylic or oil, they tell of her adventures, love, passion, compassion, peace, changes, confusion, clarity, light, inspiration, and the joys and challenges of life.

She currently lives part-time in California and in Southern France,
painting, traveling, dancing, and writing “Haiku” poetry.
